Our Teaching Philosophy
We believe fundamental analysis isn't just about reading numbers — it's about understanding the story behind every financial decision and building confidence through practical experience.
Explore Our MethodsBuilding Real Understanding
Most people think financial analysis is just spreadsheets and formulas. But after working with hundreds of students over the past eight years, we've learned something different.
The students who succeed aren't necessarily the ones with the strongest math background. They're the ones who learn to see patterns in business stories and connect financial data to real company decisions.
- Start with actual company case studies from Hong Kong market
- Practice with real financial statements, not textbook examples
- Learn to spot red flags that matter in practice
- Build analysis skills through guided discovery
- Connect technical concepts to business strategy
How We Structure Learning
Each course follows a carefully designed progression that builds confidence while tackling increasingly complex analysis challenges.
Foundation Phase
We start with the basics, but not boring theory. Students work with simplified versions of actual company reports from companies they recognize. This helps them understand what they're looking at before diving into complex calculations.
By week three, most students can identify the key sections of an annual report and explain what the major numbers mean in plain English.
Weeks 1-4
Master the fundamentals with real examples
Application Phase
Here's where students start building their analytical toolkit. We introduce ratio analysis, but always in the context of specific business questions. Instead of memorizing formulas, students learn to ask: "What story is this data telling me?"
Students work in small groups to analyze competing companies in the same industry. This comparison approach makes the differences in business models much clearer than studying companies in isolation.
Weeks 5-8
Apply tools to real business scenarios
Integration Phase
The final phase brings everything together. Students choose a company they're curious about and conduct a complete fundamental analysis. They present their findings to the class, defending their conclusions and discussing potential risks.
This capstone project often surprises students with how much they've learned. Many discover they can now read financial news with genuine understanding and form their own opinions about company performance.
Weeks 9-12
Complete independent analysis project
